United Nations Organization

United Nations (UN), international organisation established on 24 October 1945. The United Nations (UN) was the second multipurpose international organisation established in the 20th century that was world wide in scope and membership. Currently, the United Nations consists of 193 member-states. The UN is the world’s largest intergovernmental organisation. All member states have equal representation in the UN General Assembly.

The UN officially came into existence on 24 October 1945, after ratification of  the United Nations Charter by the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council ( the Republic of China, France, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States) and a majority of the other signatories. A total of 51 orginal members joined that year, 50 of them signed the Charter at the United Nations Conference on International organisation in San Francicso on 26 June 1945, while Poland, which was not represented at the conference, signed it on 15 October 1945.

The UN was created after leaders from 50 countries signed the UN Charter in San Francisco on June 26, 1945. The United Nations (UN) to maintain international peace and security. The UN’s mission is to prevent conflict, help parties in conflict make peace, and create conditions fir peace to flourish. The UN has 193 member states. The UN was founded in San Francisco on  October 24, 1945 by 51 founding members, including the United States, United Kingdom, and India. The UN headquarters is in New York. The UN work is guided by the purpose and principles in its founding Charter. The Charter’s purposed include. The UN’s work is guided by the purpose and principles in its founding Charter. Promoting respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.
