National Doctors Day

National Doctors Day is celebrated on 1st July every year. In India, National Doctors Day was first observed on 1st July of  1991 in honour of Dr Bidhan  Chandra Roy, to pay tribute to his contributions to the health domain. Dr. B. C. Roy was a birthday perisher, born on 1st July 1882 and died on 1st of July 1962,  a strange coincidence. In the year 1976, the B. C. Roy National award was established in his memory to recognise the eminent person working in the areas of medicine, science, public affairs, philosophy, arts and literature.

The Theme of 2024 is ” Healing Hands, Caring Hearts.” The theme emphasized the dedication and compassion doctors bring to their practice daily and the critical role they play in saving lakhs lives through out their lifetime.

Doctors have a vital role in society, they devote their lives to patients, well beings, assisting in faster recovery from disease or condition and improving their quality of life. They greatly understand Medical Science and commit their knowledge to treating patients medical conditions and extending life expectancy. In many incidents where doctors have never given up despite being attached by patients and their relatives. Continued their medical services for the general population. No one can forget their contributions and tireless efforts.

National Doctors Day has been celebrated in INDIA to recognise and appreciate the importance of the doctors role in society. This also helps the general population to know the importance, significant roles and responsibilities delivered towards the patients care by doctors. National Doctors Day is a significant occasion that pays tribute to the selfless service and invaluable contributions of doctors in India, thereby serving as a reminder of the crucial role they play in safeguarding the health and well being of individuals and communities.
